I just spent 2 hours plus on a movie..
It's not a typical feel good comedy,
Or cheesy love story type..
Or filled with actions and bombs..
It was a real life story..
Called 'Desert Flower'..
Like my housemate,I too saw it somewhere before..
Years ago,its was some best selling book if I'm not mistaken..
So then only now I watched it..
It's about Waris Dirie..
The brief summary of the contents were as below..
From the Somali desert to the world’s catwalks. When Waris Dirie’s DESERT FLOWER appeared in 1998, the world was shocked. The former supermodel tells her breathtaking life story, describing her incredible journey from a nomadic life in the deserts of Somalia to the world’s most famous catwalks. This was a dream and a nightmare at the same time. In New York, at the peak of her career, she tells in an interview of the practice of female genital mutilation that she had to suffer when she was three. Waris Dirie decides to end her life as a model and dedicate her life to fighting this archaic ritual.
I'm sorry for being too shallow..
For I have no words to describe how I feel after watching this movie..
Aghast that things like these happens around the world..
Amazed how at the most dire conditions people can survive..
How ignorant we human beings are most of the time..
Angry, that we weren't taking enough actions against unlawful practices..
Disappointed,in myself for being not grateful enough..
This is another wake-up calls happening in my life..
