Our first stop of the day is Hong Chun(宏村),another spot where the movie "Hidden Dragon,Crouching Tiger" was shot..A very nice village built with mountain water flowing through the drains in the village. The village people use this to do laundry etc..The guide gave a lot of explainations about the how each building was built, the meaning of the carvings on the window sills..A very beautiful village..

Next we went to the city centre and stayed at a hotel for the first time.Affordable and very very comfy..We went to Huashan Grottes..Where it was super cooling..We made friends with the receiptionist who was very pretty and very friendly.I had fun chatting with her,and she even guide us to the nearest night market after her shift was over..So nice..

Wish her all the best in her future undertakings..2 more post to go..

7th August 2007

The missed out part of my Huang Shan trip.On this day,we had to wake up at about 2.30am to catch the sunrise on the top of hill Guang Ming. From the place we stayed,we had to ascend quite some more steps before reaching the designated spot. The sky was still dark but the moonlight sorta illuminate the steps and the surroundings.A very cooling and silent night. With the help of the walking stick and the torchlight,we first reach the Flying Stone. The Flying stone stood alone on a small slope, looking at it under the starry night, can't help thinking how majestic it looked,a piece of comet from the universe maybe?Resting there for 10mins,then looked down the valley, scary but nevertheless spectacular..I really despise myself for having phobia of heights for I clung myself hard to the railing while daring myself to look at the bottomless valley..haha.Reach Guang Ming top we found a place to stand among the swarming tourists..Now only I know that the reason everyone wore raincoat is to keep warm, not to keep away from the morning dew..The sunrise was THE event of the day...Never in my life have I seen a more beautiful sunrise..It was worth the lack of sleep I had before..
After that we walked to some more scenic places before taking the cable car down. Then we made our way to 翡翠谷(Jade Valley) where a few scenes from the movie "Hidden Dragon Crouching Tiger" was shot.I was really blown away by the beauty of the waterfall, the ponds and puddles..See for yourself..九龙瀑was next..Also a place with naturally-beautifully formed rivers and waterfall...End of Huang Shan..One of the MUST visit places in China along with the Great Wall, The Forbidden Palace..

~Huang Shan(黄山) 5/8~7/8~

First,I would like to say sorry for posting up in Mandarin for the previous post..I never thought anybody would be bothered to read, most of them just glance through pictures no?Besides, when I wrote down about my trip in China,I used Mandarin, therefore,I thought why not post up in Mandarin straightaway here..haha..So,then..

I do double language ok?But that'll mean it'll be a freaky long post...Stay with me..

5th August 2007

After breakfast,we head off to Huang Shan by boat. The boat ride took 5hours..The whole day was spent on travelling from Qian Dao Hu to Huang Shan..While in the boat,I admire the beauty of the surroundings when the boat cruised along to our next destination..I just can't help feeling solemn here..How many chance in our lives do we get to admire such beauty, such peacefulness..After reaching at the port,we had to wait for the next boat/ferry to come before the only van available could take us to town..The wait took us 2hours.Not that I mind, sitting at the bench, looking at children playing, swimming in the water,I enjoyed the peacefulness, almost zen-like..

My new haircut..pic taken from the boat..
After the final ferry arrived,we got into the van-like-bus and headed to town.A small quarrel happened among the passengers and the drivers about the payment..But arguments are the norm here..After watching so many arguments,I'm used to it already..Reminds me of the time I used to quarrel with my sister..Arguing in loud voices..haha..By the time we reach the town found a place to stay,it was almost 10pm at night..

6th August 2007
Today we went up to Huang Shan.As there's only one cable car available, with the amount of tourist swarming there,to get on the cable car,you need to queue up for 3hours..So we opt to climb up the hill..We are going up there...

We succeeded on reaching the designated spot within 2 and a half hours..The route we chose is actually ascending stairs up the mountain..Therefore,when I reach the end of the stairs,I officially declare that I hate STAIRS!!!My legs were numb and my shirt was soaked wet with sweat, and without the help of a walking stick,it'll be more difficult to go up the mountain.Piece of advice here, you must not rush!!Else you'll die halfway of tiredness..Now,pictures will do the talking..

。待续。。Too long d,the 7th of August post will be up next..
