In Japan, there's a word call なるほど(naruhodo) which means "I see" but with a deeper knowledge of what was being told than an act of confirmation that one is listening. It's a norm here that with everything that has happened,it has a story behind it. Well, of course things happened for a reason. But the Japanese likes to say なるほど with a sudden glint in the eyes, because usually the reason for things to happen are usually out of the ordinary.
It fascinates me to find that everyone wants a logical reason for everything that has happened. And somehow when you try hard to convince people, you brain tend to come out with logical reasons too. Maybe it's because logical reasons gain people's approval. Or maybe because logical reasons provide the opportunity for people to dig in further on the topic that was being brought up. Well, look at me, I'm coming up with reasons for myself to understand this situation better.lol.
I came to realized that people say that word because that thought never came to them in the first place. Hence, my earlier statement that the "reason for things to happen are usually out of the ordinary". So it's pretty amazing how many times one could say なるほど in a day because of the amount of people they met. I'm not getting anywhere, I know, but I guess I'm just saying,I feel fascinated with the amount of stuff people know. And when meeting people from different countries and from all walks of life, one could really learn a lot from other people's prospective.
There are pros and cons of course, but I'm trying to get to all the good points. After all, that's what I have been noticing. One being, you hear people complain about their work, their hectic schedules, their boss mistreating them. But in fact, everyone in the world is doing the same. Some chooses to keep quiet, not because they are not as busy nor their schedule is not hectic enough. But because they have the right mindset that they are lucky to have work, they have a healthy body to be able to go to work, they have the capability to work. It's just a very small lame example, but the point is,it's the right mindset that counts.
So from now on,I'm going to try to complain less. Not everything is impossible if you set your mind to it. Not to say I won't complain that I'm tired so on so forth,I am human after all. But before complaining, I'd rather be caring about others first. Take a step back before complaining to see what can I do to make other people less tired and by doing so,not only I can help others but also help myself to grow. Sometimes,we tend to dwell on small stuff, when in fact, the world doesn't revolves around ourselves only=)
