~International Students trip to Kyoto & Shiga~

Day 1
Been to Kyoto for about 6 or 7 times already but I joined all the same.
Because Lim sensei asked me to.
Because I just feel like going when I was at my internship.
Because I thought a trip is always nice.

It was nice actually.
But it could have been better if I could understand Laos.
I mean,I don't mind going without the rest of the Malaysians.
And furthermore, the Laos foreign students was a fun bunch.
But it could have been more fun if I could join in the jokes without having being translated too.

Anyway,
We took the Shinkansen to Kyoto station.
But I have to say I don't like it where most of the foreign students took the first public bus of the day from our university to Toyohashi station.
Because there was too many of us,the bus couldn't fit any other passengers after 5 stops.
Which is quite a serious matter..to me,anyway.

Because having gone to internship recently,
I realized that by missing the public bus could mean you would be late for work that day.
So I felt really sorry for those passengers who wanted to go to work by bus but couldn't do so because a bunch of foreign students are on their way to have fun.
I wrote about this issue in my report about the trip.
I'd rather we not take the Shinkansen instead the university prepare a chartered bus for us from the university to the train station.
After arriving at Kyoto Station,
We went to the Manga Museum in Kyoto,a place which I haven't been before in the numerous times I've been to Kyoto.
Then it was Nijo Castle which I've been to for 4 times.
So I just enjoyed taking pictures with other foreign students.
We went to a very cool Ninja themed restaurant for lunch.
Then Arashiyama was next, followed by Ryoan-ji Temple and the Golden Pavilion.
All of these places which I have been already so I just enjoyed the company than the view.
Besides,
These places are to be enjoyed with less people, where you admire the architecture, the nature and the zen-feel it brings.
Stayed at a pretty posh hotel called Kyoto Royal Hotel & SPA.
Stayed with a girl from China whom I was assigned to be my room mate.
Had dinner at the hotel before I head to bowling with Laos gang=P
Had a great time there, scoring not really well because of fatigue but fun all the same.
Had a really warm shower after that and head to bed.

Day 2
Up early for buffet breakfast then checked out.
Had a bit of heart-to-heart talk with Noy. (I know,so early in the morning huh?)
Then head to Kyoto's "Yuzen-Zome" dyeing and got a handkerchief each.

Spent lots of time in the bus sleeping after that before reaching Traditional Crafts Centre of Shigaraki in Shiga.
Absolutely nothing to do there, and it was so cold that it began snowing.

Lunch was pretty good. I had to say,the food throughout the entire trip was pretty good.
Last visit of the trip was to Shiga-Koga Ninjyutsu Yashiki, the ninja house!!

It was pretty cool in there and the explanation was pretty cool as well.
Like for example,
Ninjas, unlike shown in movies, don't attempt to kill their enemies.
For more details, I'd like to link to the official website here.

More long distance bus ride after that.
Was kind of sad that it ended so soon.
Dragged my tired body home and had a good time uploading photos on Facebook and reading comments etc. I really do wonder how could I survive without Facebook now..
