To strike a balance.
What if running from one edge to the other edge at the fastest speed balancing the plank is the only way?
Who's to decide that putting the same weight at both ends is called "balancing it well"?
Where is the middle part of the plank that keeps it balanced?
Why does everyone thinks that only 2 parts, the ends of the planks, are the only important parts to keep it in balance?
When can the plank finds its perfect balance?
How do WE keep our own balance when there's so much we don't know of,cannot take control of,don't feel like letting go of?

It didn't come to me that you would write the last line. Yes, we are not God or any gods, we can't possibly control everything as no one can make the ultimate decision of others. Life isn't just made up of a thing.. be it studying, doing research or travelling. There are many things to do in life.. it's good to do a bit of everything (of course with more emphasis/time on important thing aka. our job).
It is always good to reexamine yourself so as not to go far wrong.

nice post. but if we run too fast, will the experience be lesser instead? like we get a bit of this and that, but we were never really there to fully enjoy
too much of a thing can be boring
