~The Cruel Truth~

It is a sad thought reading this article..Link I couldn't imagine the horror of one had to face in their lives so many years ago and yet lived on for so long, scarred.I really respect her for being able to live on this long to share her story.I would have chosen to commit suicide than face the horror of being raped over and over again,or live on so long everyday with fear in me haunting me each and everyday.

My point of view however,is that, these things happened in the past, what has been done has been done. The Japanese will not admit their sin,the Chinese can live on hating them forever. But the sad thing is,things couldn't change anymore for the better. If the Japanese pay compensations to the Chinese, would it changed history?Could the Chinese women live on unscarred then? The sad truth is no,things won't change. And I believe the granny knows...

But the world needs to know the truth, and that is a right the world is entitled to know..

In a way,I'm glad she lived on to tell.In another,I sympathise with her living in dark shadows all this while.Comes our century,we lived in harmony (almost) with the Japanese,in fact, ironically,Japanese are much respect in a lot of aspects. It shows that either the world is living in ignorance,or we could say that its better to forgive and forget.Maybe,I don't have the right to say anything for I'm not one of those victims of the cruel WW2.But I do believe that if its for the good of all, what has happened has happened, there's no need to create trouble by bring up what has happened in the past over and over again..History taught us enough what we need to know, what's the point of passing down hatred to the next generation I wonder..

Maybe a lot of you don't agree with me,but I'm open to opinions..Do share..

i might sound cold and heartless but history repeats itself. rape was common in pillages during the medieval times, women are raped as spoils of war. it's a sad thing. i'm not condoning what the japanese did and i have sympathy for her. i however do not think that current japan should be blamed for what ppl did 50 yrs ago. germans massacred jews but they've somewhat mend their ways. one side has to forgive and it's very hard when it comes to too big headed asian races.

Yeah, i've read about that. I, too, agree with you. The japanese would nv admit what they(the soldiers) did to all these ladies. Even though it's hard to forget, it's even harder to forgive. No matter what, i believe that the current people shouldn't suffer from what their world-conquering ancestors did decades ago.

yeah, i read abt it today too. in my opinion, the jap govt should compensate as a token of apology. the victims' lives are shattered n they are traumatised abt the past. the compensation by the govt is also an act of acknowledgement of their past faults. although the soldiers during WW2 were at fault, the govt of japan should be responsible because they represent their people.

What the Japanese soldiers did during the WW2 were cruel and I sympathise the victims of WW2. But in my opinion, it was the Japanese people of that time that did it. I think it is unfair to blame it on today's Japanese.
What today's Japanese did wrongly is not admitting their worngdoings. It is done and it is a fact and they should admit it.

I agree that the incident's history, but it doesnt change the fact that it really happened. the japanese govt should apologise, compensate, educate the youngsters. ignorance is not bliss here. my host parents in hokkaido bow and apologise to ppl they met in china for this incident that happened so many years ago. but, it takes two to clap. china has to be willing to forgive and forget too.

When it comes to topics about the past, only the 'screwed' history books are to be blamed. What the Japanese did during WW2 was horrible, but what happened during the 1989 Chinese Revolution was also a gruesome fact Chine left out from the pages of history.
Make it this way, WW2 happened in M'sia too no? Why aren't we seing any old ladies coming out n tell their stories? Why almost ALL M'sian love Jap so much instead of hating them? Thank our history books! Those things can make us hate or love something....
Look foward, don't look back, the past is the past.
p.s I personally hate China alot for being stubborn after so many decades
