May Ching's DAy 2

ok,sorry May Ching,i know it's copy right, patented etc..but i'm so darn lazy to go through day 2 n since u've already done the report writing i'll just...sorry..i did add a few words here n there so...gomen gomen

hiking!! hoho.. that word has got two meaning.. one is fun.. another is tiring... as for me, i experienced the fun, the thrill and the tiredness.. imagine.. hiking up the hill for 1 and a half hour.. another record first time for me.. note to hui lin n shuey: guys, this is nothing like the jungle trekking we went in taman rakyat.. this is the real thing man! not even the jungle trekking at the other camp-dusun eco resort- can be compared to this.. one could feel the rush of adrenaline, the rapid pumping of the heart, the great urge to slow down and just drop dead.. the path was steep and full of tree roots.. it was like going up 80 degrees all the time.. imagine, us youngsters we already very 'chuan' and breathless edi.. nakamura and yoshida sensei still ok leh.. they are in their 60s edi summore.. well, maybe becos japanese people love hiking so they might be ok with this.. oh yah, lets not forget another japanese sensei.. matsuse sensei, a 29 year old male.. breathless like us.. and stopping every once in a while to answer the call.. of tobacco.. zha dao~

Kelly: and i would like to add,the sweat was like tap dripping,i can (but din..) squeazz my sweat out from my drenched shirt...eww...and my,I almost slipped and like what May Ching said, dropped dead!!serious..note here,i really salute Halim,Wong ,Aizat n some guys who managed to go in front, and stay in front throughout the whole journey hiking up there..omg...sports ppl, memang different..

malaysia's rainforest is still full of big huge trees.. i particularly like the view when you look above in the forest and u can see the sunlight penetrating into the leaves without reaching the ground.. yee feng, im experiencing those scenes that we see only in pictures in art class leh... hehe.. after reaching our destination, a hill named bukit teresek.. everyone was full of sweat and out of breath.. even the little breath that we had left was blown away by the magestic view of the rainforest from above... can u imagine? trees of red and green and yellow colours, all blended together to create this beautiful picture before my eyes.. i was.. speechless.. someday, no.. soon,.. im gonna paint these out,in watercolour perhaps.. taman negara series.. yeah!~

Kelly: i barely got to see anything cuz,i was toobusy catching my breath..

next, the canopy walkway... after hiking down bukit teresek.. we went walking between trees, 20 meters above ground.. wah lau eh! it was scary only when idiotic people shake their asses off behind.. other than that.. it was like really, wow!! cool... it wasnt fun all the way though.. most of the times, our views were blocked by the trees.. the best part, however was the feeling of walking so high above ground, surrounded by trees.. feeling how our scientific ancestors felt.. hehe...

Kelly: And Halim,in front of me was like, fooling around with me,scaring the wits outta me about the height..shoots,but we had fun joking arond..though so not cool when i took a pic on the bridge n nearly stmbled and lose my footing..careful careful...

then, with our muscles pulling, after all the excitement and thrill gone, all i felt like doing was to dip my feet into warm water.. so after reaching the motel, i did just that.. so relaxing.. so nice.. rest was what we deserved.. many slept through it.. er, maybe except this weird girl holding a book on the bed.. hehe.. after enough rest, we were all geared up for the next activity.. rapids shooting and visiting the orang asli village.. we went to the orang asli village first in these long boats with roof above.. cool huh?? we reached their um, jettyless-jetty and my oh my.. there they are.. the women and children of orang asli.. i always thought they might bear some resemblance to malay, like the kadazans in sarawak.. bt, how wrong i was.. they looked more like africans.. dark with afro-stled hair... the ladies, they were clad in only sarongs.. and some with their upper parts revealed.. uh, u know wat i mean...
well, we went to their 'home'/.. the state of it really shocked me.. they only had a canvas on top of their heads as roofs and two sticks in front to support the canvas.. no walls at all.. it certainly wasnt like the kadazans' houses which still have roofs and four walls surrounding them.. no.. only this and a tikar on the floor.. everyones' mouth fell wide open upon seeing this.. well, let me go through wat the guide told us about...
there are three tribes in this taman negara area.. the ones that we are visiting now is called the batek tribe, and the two others are jakun and s...( i cant remember).. this is the only tribe left who still lives here not wanting to leave the jungle.. the two others have already been 'modernised' and many are living outside the jungle, working in factories and so on.. the government, with the department of orang asli in charge, have invited them to somewhere more civilised, provided them with houses and education.. however, they left after only a week.. i guess, they weren;t used to our way of living.. so, now here they are.. practising the lives of their ancestors.. they move every 2 to three months.. i had once asked a doctor about the origins of these orang asli.. and the doctor told me that according to a research, there orang asli have got the same DNA as their peers in africa.. they might have come from africa long long time ago and settled here.. ( now is that intriguing or wat).. they dont have religion.. they only believe in the forest... (whatever it meant).. they speak bm and their own language senai.. they dont go to school so they are illiterate.. but, sometimes foreign tourists might come and stay with them, experiencing their way of life.. and teach them english in exchange too.. so, its not surprising to hear them speak english.. with a london accent!! (LOL..) they hunt for animals like fox, squirrels and monkeys and look for herbs in the jungle.. they are the only ones who can legally take anything they needed from the jungle.. people like us can kena saman even for taking a dried leave.. (of course, he was only joking, i think)
my reaction was.. how can anybody live in this condition?? it was like they live only for survival.. food, shelter and clothe.. goodness.. well, at least they still had something to cover on.. the men were better than the women.. they wore tshirts and pants, but the women.. sigh.. another case of gender unequality... they then showed us how they made fire, how they prepared the 'sumpit', a hunting weapon that they used... amazing.. imagine, in this modern lifetime, there still are people who get fire by rubbing the wood together.. in this case, the batek people used meranti wood and the stem of the bamboo.. he demonstrated the way... although it looked easy, it took him around 5 minutes to start the fire.. and only that required rubbing, blowing and all.. taihensou... next, he showed us how to make the 'sumpit'.. using a sharp lidi stick, some tree stem( the same one that people use to make cork) and a leave ( that have the same quality of the sand paper)... then, he demonstrated his shooting skills.. of course it hit the target ( a white polyesterine, pinned on a tree) well.. the guide asked us if anyone wanted to try.. he warned us that those who failed would have to stay overnight there,.. ( waseh, this guide has got a good sense of humour ler, he managed to make a few of my frens believe him, with his serious look.. haha) a few tried.. even nakamura sensei.. he failed too.. haha.. and he made such a cute face.. like wat u see in the japanese anime.. sooo cute.. imagine someone of ur grandad's age copying cartoons.. hahaha..

Kelly: and i did a pretty good shot, hit the damn polysterine but it din stuck there so erm...run fast!!!and i got into the boat with Halim n was then..haha,soaked..no wrong ideas pls..on the way to the next activity,we had another "game" of our own..which was,splashing-war!!we practically had a boat fight with the others n was splashing water at the other boats..poor May Ching n I,the innocent ones, where soaked wet before we can even make it to the swimming place..sigh..but it was fun..

last fun activity in the wild before returning to boring motel.. rapids shooting.. no idea, rite? yah, we had no idea that this was gonna be so much fun.. its like tug of war.. our long boats became war ships... dum dum dum.. wahaha... everytime another warship passed us, we splashed each other with water.. and the best part of all is everyone getting wet.. xinning and i were seated right in front.. so we were kinda the worst.. wet from head till toe.. all soaked up.. even the sensei were wet.. haha.. wet wet wet!! bt, a whole load of fun fun fun!!! after getting all soaked up, we stopped at the river bank to have another splash.. i didnt join in cos i was wearing shoes and well, okla.. excuses nia... i just didnt feel like it... so, xinning, matsuse and i just stood there looking at friends doing crazy stuff in the water while chatting..

Kelly: but it was not all super fun, have to wear this silly life jackets on..shoots,how to swim like that??and for the second time,i'm nearly carried away by the currents, this time..thank you Fairuz...hehe

after all the fun ended, it was time to go back.. we went back and bathed.. then we waited till 9 pm.. barbecue time.. er, we didnt grill them ourselves though.. they we ready cooked.. yum, yum.. delicious.. after that, with the feeling of drowsiness and tiredness all in me.. sleepiness naturally came along.. and with those three feelings.. i now wonder how could i have stand through the night till 12.. well, i did slip into dreamland while others were singing their lungs out, playing cards, watching tv.. er, i din go to my room cos then, i would be all alone.. scary leh,.. even with the lights on.. so i 'teng ju' till they finished watching apprentice.. er, i dun watch apprentice... dunno y...

Kelly: i did, watched Apprentice but cud barely hear a word with the loud karaoke going on...reading subtitles ni..and the Japanese game where Yoshida Sensei taught us was pretty fun..and after may Ching dozed of to dreamland,i found out that Xin Ning was still awake so with the Chinese guys,we went off on ur own little adventure to find mamak..and of cuz we were dissapointed,c'mon this is not KL...where u think u can find mamak at 12.30am??haha..whatta joke...anyway,we wondered off a little then finnaly gave way n slept..(not before i sneaked out with Min Ley's chips n share it with the Malay gals..haha,kk,she asked me to eat it anytime i want lar!!)well, that was end of day 2..

Day 3 was with us waking up late, haha, packing like siao even packing our wet sport shoes where i had practically flooded the toilet with mud (i cleaned it up k!!)and my,as i have mentioned our light luggages earlier on?this time it weighs like tonnes..maklumlar,all the water from ppols n rivers as souvenirs..haha..anyhow,we stopped by at McDonald's on the way back at the foothllof Genting Highlamds n home sweet home at last..no,i had to wait for 3 more hours b4 mum finally picked me up from the hostel..and soon..i've got new toilet mates..welcome to Kai Ning n Kohila, the best impression?just dirtied the toilet which min Ley had cleaned,5 minutes ago..sigh...i'm leaving out..bye bye...sigh sigh...
