Hot Air Balloon in the making..
Hot Air Balloon in the making..
Almost done..Sabar
The day's event began at 8am.I was about to go to the Suzuka Balloon Festival with Najwa and Kamarull when Rie sms-ed me and asked me if I already went. When I told her no,she said she wanted to join us and offered to fetch us there instead. So Ok,we waited til 8.40am and she fetched all 3of us there.
Getting up
By the time I reach there only I realised her house was actually near the place where the festival took place but she actually spent time to fetch us all the way from our hostel..So nice of her..Anyway,we met up with Clement who actually spent the night there after failing to get a place to stay for the night.Gosh,it was freaking cold ok..I wonder how he survived. We were too late to get a number to get up the balloon because people have been queuing up since 6am!By the time we were there, there was already 600person in front of us..Crazy.
Done
Anyway, after taking loads of picture of the hot air balloon,we walked around the area where Najwa tried on the traditional Japanese warrior costume.
Then Rie invited Clement to join us to a small festival in her neighbourhood.I really can't help liking Rie,she's really warm-hearted and eager to make us foreigners to feel at home.In fact, when I first came to Japan, she was the first one to come into my room and introduce herself before my tutor. After the festival,we walked around her neighbourhood take a look at her 85year-old real Japanese traditional house and a 50 year-old real Samurai sword,a gift which her grandfather got from a real samurai when her grandfather let the Samurai stayed for a night.
Then we had 'Never give up' parfait which we finished surprisingly fast and we went for bowling and basketball shooting.I need more practise to beat Clement at bowling..hmmpphh..But at 234 for 2 games and an average at 117per game,I score ok I think...I tried=P.Next was a quick shop at Uni Qlo one floor below,I regret I didn't buy more.Came back tried the turtle neck top was very much my liking..gahh...
Anyway, the day ended with Rie sending Clement back to the train station and we had a real Japanese dinner at Rie's house. The mum was really super, even without using ham, pork or chicken she could get the whole big dining table full within 30minutes of dinner preparing.Salute.After dinner Rie came back to the hostel with us...BUT....
We managed to catch the event of the day..The hot air balloon night illumination!!!So super nice I tell you..I really wish I have a more 'geng' camera to catch the illumination though..A nice ending for a wonderful day. Thanks Rie,for making this happen.
(She actually told me that once, she read my journal entry in the Japanese blog Mixi, about me feeling left out as a foreigner etc, that she felt she needed to do something to make me not feel lonely and left out..trust me,she really did it and I was already touched to tears not only by her actions, but by her thoughts itself..I consider myself really lucky..and I'm definitely really grateful..)
