~Washington D.C.~

18/10/2008~20/10/2008
Next we arrived to Washington D.C. where the weather was perfect in every way..

Our first stop of the day was the Arlington National Cemetery where we get to see the names of the soldiers who sacrificed in war.It is said that its quite hard to get a place here as it's a very famous and good place to RIP..The main attraction of this place was these..

The famous words of John F.Kennedy and also the actual grave of J.Kennedy.Next we went to Abraham Lincoln's memorial where we can see the Reflecting pool reflecting the one and only taller than 130meters building in Washington D.C.,the Washington Monument.

Next was Thomas Jefferson's memorial.Thomas Jefferson (April 13, 1743 – July 4, 1826) was the third President of the United States (1801–1809), the principal author of the Declaration of Independence (1776), and one of the most influential Founding Fathers for his promotion of the ideals of republicanism in the United States.

See the famous words of his? "That All Men Are Created Equal"

Next,the White House.What more should I say?

We also took pictures with the U.S. Capitol
All those visits were done on one day..which was on the 18th..See how packed our schedule is?So we opt to pamper ourselves with some Spain food for dinner..

The next day we had our free day and early that morning we queued up to get the tickets to go up the Washington Monument.Saw a very energetic Brazillian Drums performance..

Then we visited the National Museum of Natural History,Air and Space Museum and the National Gallery of Art..there was a whole row of museums there but we opt to only go to these 3.A picture by the famous Leonardo da Vinci..

The Wright Brother's with Sakuya and me at the Air and Space Museum. After that we went up the Washington Monument to get the whole view of Washington D.C.

The girls went to George Town for dinner that night but I was sick due to the cold I caught in New York and due to fatigue.Rie took my camera with her as her's was stolen so..A picture of Georgetown..

And lastly a very cool connecting tunnel from Terminal A to Terminal B in Detroit Airport before we head to our last stop Ohio,Columbus..

~New York~

Ladies and Gentlemen..I'm home=)

Yes,if its not for Emerson spilling my sort-of-a-secret here,I wanted to surprised you all by telling..I've made it to the BIG APPLE!!!!

Ahem, let me start with some explanation.

My college has a joint programme with OSU(Ohio State University) whereby each year, Suzuka National College of Technology will send about 15 students and 2 teachers to attend a 3-day lesson there. With the economic downpour which resulted in the soar of fuel price, this year only 17 students applied to go so all 17 of us got to go without any screening by our college.

Our trip was about 10days,plus minus the 13hour flight to and fro. On the first 3days we went to New York, next was Washington D.C. and lastly Ohio,Columbus.Among the 3places,I like New York the best, but NY is a good place to visit but not really a good place to live in,I think. So then, shall we begin=)

15/10/08~18/10/08
First day we arrived at NY,we were greeted by our tour guide who showed us around Manhattan city.Manhattan skyscrapers..

The rest of the time she was doing some explanations about some building but we were all too sleepy because of the 12hours and 54mins plane ride and jet lag that most of us was knocked out asleep in the bus.Anyway,we stayed at Hotel Pennsylvania which was just opposite Madison Square and 10mins walk away from Times Square.Rie,Sakuya and Tomoko in Times Square

Our first dinner was at Brooklyn Diners,a typical American diner which serves in large portions.
Wakebe(tutor) and Rie
Me and Tomoko trying to show how big the cake was...

The next day we had breakfast at Zabo's.

We were shown where Ground Zero was and Dakota House.

Then the main event of the day...Statue of Liberty=)

We walked on Wall Street, saw where New York Stock Exchange takes place..

United Nations headquarters.

Metropolitan Arts Gallery.

Watched Phantom of the Opera that night too.Seeing our tight schedule, you guys by now should have a rough idea how tired we were on that day.I could almost sleep by just standing and almost was at the Arts Gallery.I was barely awake for Phantom because I've seen it once and the Christin here wasn't as good as the one I saw in London.

Day 3

After having Krispy Kreme for breakfast we went to Central Park.It was really beautiful there.

Took a picture of John Lennon's (of The Beatles) apartment which was nearby Central Park.

We were free to explore ourselves then.So the five of us went for some shipping at 5th Avenue where all the branded stuff were.Only Tomoko was interested in shoping there actually,so in the end we made it back to Times Square and visited the M&M's shop and Hershey's..Rie's camera got pick-pocketed at Hershey's,poor thing..After dinner we met up with everyone again and headed to Empire States Building for the night view.

At times like this I really wish I have a better camera..

It was pretty cold all of a sudden on Friday and it was really cold up at the Empire States Building.Would have enjoyed the view more if it wasn't that cold.Anyway, will post up about Washington D.C. and Columbus later next week.Would have love to post this blog in details, but no time so just enjoy some pics lar..Have a lot of catching up in class to do.Sigh..
